A North Warwickshire firm is enjoying a boom as councils mend winter potholes.

The severe freezing weather of the last few months has seriously affected road surfaces in Coventry and Warwickshire.

The resulting potholes have caused problems for motorists and cyclists, but have been good news for the Dorden firm that makes pothole 'filler'.

Instarmac, of Birch Coppice in Dordon, are the country's biggest supplier of cold lay products for the repair of potholes.

They are now at the centre of many local authority programmes to fill the cracks and holes created by freezing temperatures.

Sarah Rose, marketing manager at the company, explained their role to BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "We serve anyone involved in repairing roads.

"Our biggest customers are local authorities and councils but we do have small customers. Private roads, drives, tennis courts, they all get potholes and cracks in too."

The North Warwickshire company is still growing, despite the current financial pressures. It continued to recruit even at the height of the recent recession and now has 130 employees.
