Numerous organisations in Cornwall have received BBC Children in Need grants in the last year
The BBC's massive fundraising night returns on Friday 19 November 2010. All over Cornwall events are being planned.
Last year hundreds of thousands of pounds was raised in the South West through a variety of activities of all sizes.
A lot of the money raised in Cornwall returns to the county, with many organisations benefiting.
All the charities that receive grants from Pudsey must be linked to help children and young adults.
Youngsters in Cornwall raising funds for children nationwide
In February more than £170,000 was awarded to two charities in Cornwall.
Cornwall Advocacy is a registered charity that provides free independent help and support to people with a learning disability throughout Cornwall. The organisation is receiving a grant for £113,630.
The service helps people with disabilities to make their own choices, speak for themselves, and find all the information they need. The charity provides advocates who help the young people find their voice, as well as offering confidential support.
TravellerSpace is an independent voluntary organisation supporting Gypsies, Irish Travellers and New Travellers in Cornwall and the South West to access the services and opportunities available to the wider community and to have a voice in decision and policy making processes.
The west Cornwall based charity will receive £57,716 for their Playbus Project which will see them working further with Gypsy and traveller communities.
The following organisations have also received BBC Children in Need grants in the last year:
YMCA Cornwall Penzance - £39,948
This project will provide youth club activities for young people between 8 and 18.
Women's Aid West Cornwall Penzance - £83,250
The grant was provided to support for young people and parents who have experienced domestic abuse.
Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change Redruth - £79,711
This Redruth based scheme will provide youth work activities on 20 housing estates in Cornwall on some evenings after school, on regular weekends and during school holidays.
Trelya Penzance - £116,335
This project will provide group and individual support to disadvantaged young people making the transition from school to adult life.
