Pete Goss returns to solo racing

Pete announces his next adventure in his state of the art yacht

Cornish yachtsman Pete Goss has officially launched his return to solo racing.

Pete will be competing in the "Route du Rhum" transatlantic race and has officially named his new yacht at a special ceremony in Plymouth.

Pete is hoping that the 40ft state of the art boat will secure him a place on the podium.

He says it will be a real contrast to his last challenge, sailing to Australia on a Cornish lugger.

The yacht itself is guaranteed to turn heads in France next month.

The sail has been specially designed by two of the leading artists from the region's urban art scene.

More than 80 skippers will be competing in the 3,500 mile solo race from St Malo in France to Guadeloupe in the Caribbean.

The Route du Rhum is held every four years and is one of the highlights on the French yachting calendar and Pete is the only British skipper competing in this edition.
