World's oldest pony in Cornwall?

Scribbles' diet includes carrots and cod liver oil

Scribbles the pony may have lost most of his teeth, but he's still going strong at the ripe old age of 51.

It's possible that he's also the oldest pony in the world. Vets are amazed at how healthy Scribbles is.

The pony is on no medication at all, even though he's an old chap now.

His current owner Alison Eathorne is hoping Scribbles will become a record breaker. She is contacting the Guinness Book of World Records team.

Scribbles healthy old age could be down to his healthy diet which includes a specialist food mix and cod liver oil!

The previous official oldest pony died in 2007.

Named Sugar Puff, the Shetland Exmoor gelding reached the grand old age of 56-years-old.

Domestic horses, have an average life span of 25 to 30 years.

Ponies can live longer; well into their 30's. However it's rare for ponies to live beyond that.

Scribbles owners are keeping their fingers crossed that he turns out to be officially recognised as the oldest pony in the world.
