First Click: Internet removes rural isolation

Vicky McDougal, 35, from Cambridgeshire has taken her first steps to get online in order to reconnect with her wider family after moving to the Fens has brought with it a sense of rural isolation.

She hasn't seen seen her sister in three years and due to shift work, communicating by phone is never easy: "It is very, very lonely on your own here. I want to learn the internet so I can communicate with my whole family," she said.

The classes are held at her local pub The George Inn, where Vicky feels the learning experience is relaxed and takes away the pressure of a classroom environment.
