BBC's success at award ceremony

The annual awards recognise journalism, presentation and production talent

BBC presenters and radio and television programmes won a string of awards at a ceremony in Plymouth on Thursday.

Ben Prater's Drive show won Radio Programme of the Year at the EDF Energy Southwest Media Awards.

Nigel Dando, from Radio Bristol, was named Radio Journalist of the Year and Points West's Matthew Hill won Television Journalist of the Year.

TV programme of the year went to Inside Out West's Private Harry - remarkable story of Harry Patch.

BBC Radio Bristol Managing Editor Tim Pemberton said: "This is a great day for the station.

"I'm really pleased that all the hard work by the presenters, reporters and producers in the various categories has been recognised."
