BBC Points West's Alex Lovell and Chris Vacher presented fundraisers and guests - including the BBC DIY SOS team - to the crowd.
People came to the zoo to hand over their fundraising cheques in person.
As well as Pudsey, the crowd met a host of sci-fi characters including Daleks and R2D2.
Lots of children had their faces painted as the cuddly Children in Need character Pudsey bear.
Others sported Pudsey bear ears, sold in aid of the charity at shops across the UK.
Dozens of people brought cheques along to the zoo to add to the total raised for the charity.
The fundraising ranged from a few to many thousands of pounds - and every single donation is gratefully received.
Thousands of people applied for free tickets to the Children in Need event and several hundred came to the zoo to support the charity on the night.
