New cycle way for Bristol International Balloon Fiesta

Hot air balloons take off from Queen Square
Festival Cycle Way starts at Queen Square and takes cyclists to the fiesta site

A new cycle route from the city centre to Ashton Court will open for 2010's Bristol International Balloon Fiesta.

Starting in Queen Square, organisers say the Festival Cycle Way will offer "a safe, bike-friendly route to the fiesta site".

Once cyclists arrive at Ashton Court, they can attach their bikes to barriers at the free bicycle park at Gate 3 (Kennel Lodge).

As in previous years, Clifton Suspension Bridge will be closed to pedestrians and vehicles from 6pm to 2am on Thursday 12 and Saturday 14 August.

Full details of how to get to this year's fiesta, which runs from 12-15 August, are available on the event website.
