The new Wheel of Weston is up-and-running from Friday on the Beach Lawns in Weston-super-Mare and will be in place until the end of November.

The 40 metre wheel has 30 glass-sided observation pods which can hold up to eight people each, as Penny's pictures show.

On a clear day visitors will be able to see 360 degree views, including as far as Cardiff's Millenium Stadium, the Mendips, the Quantocks, and Exmoor.

The company which operates the wheel, which weighs 160 tonnes, has wheels around the world including Brisbane, London, and Paris.
