Orphan foundation becomes charity
Marian Rondora
Marian wanted to help orphans in her native Zimbabwe

A Bristol parishioner has set up a charity to help orphans in her native Zimbabwe.

Marian Rondora established Hope Fountain International two years ago and the organisation has just attained official charity status.

Following the death of her husband, Marian's own children in Zimbabwe were helped by friends from her church.

She decided to see how she could support other orphans there, and Hope Fountain International began.

Marian and a group of Bristol people of white British origin and African origin started supporting orphaned children in Zimbabwe by providing school fees, food, accommodation and daily necessities.

That progressed to resourcing the orphanages and children's homes in which some of them were housed.

Now the charity's work has expanded to supporting an orphanage in India.
