Bike users can upload their own videos and photos

A Bristol cycling initiative is helping people get pedalling by offering videos of bike-friendly routes in the city.

If you're planning a trip in or around Bristol, you can check out footage of journeys on the Better By Bike website.

Currently there are about 10 videos - filmed using a tiny camera mounted on a cycle helmet - with plans for more, including those uploaded by cyclists.

And if the journey you need has not been filmed, you can still research it using a cycle route planner.

The facility on the Transport Direct website lets you search for the quietest, quickest or most recreational route from A to B.
