The River Avon Trail runs from Pill in North Somerset to Pulteney Bridge in Bath
Walkers are in for a treat following the release of a new guide which showcases the River Avon Trail. The free booklet contains easy to follow maps, photographs and information about the heritage and interest of the river and valley. The 23-mile trail runs alongside the River Avon from Pill in North Somerset to Pulteney Bridge in Bath. It is funded by Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council. The trail also boosts five circular routes for walkers, and in some sections, wheelchair users and cyclists to enjoy. The river corridor has a complex geology and offers a rich and varied environment for wildlife, containing some unique species. Historically, it was the great highway of the area, stimulating trade and industry. You can order a free copy of the River Avon Trail guide from the Avon Frome Partnership on 0117 922 4325.
