A newly-formed Reggae orchestra will have its debut performance at the prestigious St George's Bristol.

Acclaimed jazz musician Dennis Rollins will accompany St Pauls Reggae Orchestra on stage on 1 March, 2010.

The orchestra, which boasts more than 30 members, has been rehearsing old and new Reggae music for the performance.

"This is one of the most inspiring and unique community music projects in Bristol and the South West," said orchestra mentor Dennis Rollins.

"It gives a platform for unsung local musicians to develop their talents, work with a new people, and perform at some of the city's biggest community events and venues," added the musician.

The show will also feature local performance poets Shagufta Iqbal and Dr Edson Burton, and the legendary DJ Derek hosting an after show party in the crypt bar at St George's.

Tickets for the performance, which begins at 7.30pm, cost £4.99 and are available from the St George's Bristol website.
