Barrow's Beak> debut in The Den

By Richard Pitt
BBC Bristol Introducing presenter

As a long time supporter of the show, it was somehow fitting that Geoff Barrow should choose BBC Bristol Introducing to record the first ever session with his new band.

The Portishead producer/instrumentalist is one third of Beak>, whose album was recorded in just 12 days at the beginning of 2009.

Barrow, along with Billy Fuller and Matt Williams, recorded three tracks and an interview for the show and declared the experience of working in The Den as "excellent".

The band talk about the making of the album, a tour which will include a gig at The Arnolfini Arts Centre in Bristol

They also discuss why they named many of the tracks after local places, including Backwell, Battery Point and Iron Acton.
