Replica of the Rocket steam train tested in Bitton

Rocket replica in Bitton

We're used to seeing Brunel's engineering achievements in the West but a steam locomotive designed by his railway rival has been built in the Forest of Dean.

The "modern-day replica" of the Rocket was tested on the tracks in Bitton, South Gloucestershire, on Tuesday, 2 February, 2010.

Stephenson's engine transformed rail travel - the replica was built from scratch by engineers in Bream, Gloucestershire.

BBC Points West's Jules Hyam has been to investigate.
