Memories of Brabazon's first flight

Pete Warren was an 11-year-old schoolboy when he cycled from his home in Kingswood to see the Brabazon doing taxiing trials on the runway at Filton.

He was at the edge of the airfield on Sunday, 4 September 1949 when the test pilot Captain Bill Pegg took an on-the-spot decision to take the aircraft off on its maiden flight.
