Bristol man's war grave journey

A Bristol man is heading to the World War I mass grave in Fromelles on Wednesday in the hope of learning more about his great uncle who fell there in 1916.

The remains of hundreds of soldiers were discovered in pits in Pheasant Wood, near the village of Fromelles in northern France last year.

It is hoped genetic samples taken from living relatives will help identify some of the bodies.

Richard Hope-Hawkins will tour the forensic area and visit the battlefield where his great uncle, George Mitchell, died.
