How Concorde's air conditioning was tested

One part of Concorde's testing programme was to ensure the air conditioning systems worked.

The trial gave more than a hundred workers from BAC in Bristol, and other firms, the chance to board the jet they have been working on.

The lucky 112 were flown over the Bay of Biscay for three-and-a-half hours - the equivalent of flight across the Atlantic to the USA.

Even one cleaner who had worked at the Filton factory got a chance to fly!
