It has been confirmed that the design around a window discovered deep in the vaults of Bath Abbey is an original William Burges.
This Victorian stained glass window attracted a lot of excitement when it appeared on the Antiques Roadshow at the start of the year.
Experts on the show valued the piece at £10,000 to £15,000, with that figure rising as high as £40,000 if paperwork about the glass could be unearthed.
William Burges (1827 to 1881) was an English architect, designer and a leading figure in the Gothic Revival movement.
He designed everything from furniture and stained glass, to jewellery and metalwork.
The abbey window is now on display at the Bath Aqua theatre of Glass.
