An annual art trail, which sees mini exhibitions in Bristol living rooms, takes place from 20-22 November 2009.

Now in its ninth year, Front Room attracts almost 200 local artists showing work in 60 venues in Totterdown - and some 4,000 people come to see it.

The trail starts on Friday 20th from 6-9pm, and the art venues reopen from 12-6pm at the weekend.

A street party and market, preview exhibition and a specially-brewed beer are also planned.

"It's such a great opportunity to get out there and talk directly to artists outside the confines of a gallery environment," says Nicky Hurran from Front Room.

New for this year is Home Grown, the pre-event exhibition at Bristol's Centre Space art gallery.

Running from 6-11 November it aims to showcase what visitors to the trail can expect later in the month.

A free guide to the homes, gardens, shops, pubs, restaurants and churches taking part in Front Room will also be available.

Totterdown born and bred artist David Collman is taking part in this year's trail.

"I started working in photography about four years ago and last year was my first exhibition with Front Room," he said.

"I found the whole experience totally exhilarating."

You can find out more about the weekend and download a map of locations taking part on the Front Room website.
