Mozambican musician in Bedminster
Celso Paco
Celso Paco is in Bristol as a guest of the charity, Bristol Link with Beira

A traditional musician and storyteller from Mozambique is coming to Bristol this week to work with local children.

Celso Paco will be running workshops at Luckwell Primary School, Bedminster, on Tuesday, 20 October from 9am until 3pm.

He will be offering drumming, marimba playing, dance and the Karangana style storytelling involving music.

Celso Paco is a guest of the Bristol Link with Beira, the charity which helps manage the twinning between Bristol and Beira.

Beira, an important port city in Mozambique, is known as the country's second city.

It has road and rail links to Zimbabwe and is as big as Bristol, with miles of unspoilt beaches.

Its historic architecture and language reflect the Portuguese colonial period.

Bristol Link with Beira supports a range of health, education, development and solidarity projects in Beira.

Also, a football for development project is being developed in Beira as part of the 2018 bid to host the World Cup.
