Bristol's Only Fools and Horses

Shirley Bush's memories of Only Fools and Horses filming

Forget Peckham! Hundreds of fans of the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses are coming to Bristol on Sunday for their 12th annual get-together.

It is the first time that the Only Fools and Horses Appreciation Society has held its national convention in the city even though many of the location scenes were shot here.

The venue is Bristol City Football Club at Ashton Gate - just around the corner from the Duckmoor Road flats which doubled as Nelson Mandela House.

Fans will be able to meet some of the cast including Boycie (John Challis) and Marlene (Sue Holderness).

There will be opportunities to watch films, view props and costumes and look at the entire studio set of the Trotter flat.

Perry Aghajanoff, the convention organiser, said: "Quite a few of the fans turn up dressed up maybe as Del Boy or Uncle Albert. Some people are coming from abroad."

The event is on Sunday, 25 October 2009 from 10am to 6pm. Tickets are £5.
