Some 8,500-per-day will pack into the outdoor festival venues

Organisers of the 2009 Bristol Festival have announced the event will take place on September 19 and 20.

The event, now in its second year, will also feature a launch party on Friday, 18, September to kick the weekend off.

The main outdoor venue for the festival will, once again, will be the 8,500-capacity city centre Waterfront Square and Amphitheatre.

There will also be a variety of indoor venues in Bristol which will be hosting parts of the festival.

The event will feature seven stages across its various venues featuring acoustic acts, rock, indie, ska festival bands, jazz, world music, burlesque, folk, drumming and dance.

There will also be free workshops in arts and crafts, singing, dancing and circus classes.

Organisers say the entire site will be decorated by local artists and community groups.
