An exhibition has opened at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery to celebrate the life and beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman by Pope Benedict XVI.
Pope Benedict XVI will beatify Cardinal Newman during a visit to Birmingham on Sunday, 19 September 2010.
The display includes a bust of Cardinal Newman that was commissioned in 1841 and sculpted by Richard Westmacott the younger.
