With the Pope visiting Birmingham on Sunday, 19 September excitement is building amongst the Catholic communities across the West Midlands.

Mike and Jo McCormack and their 5 children regularly attend Mass at Erdington Abbey in Birmingham.

Most of the family will be in the crowd of 70,000 pilgrims for Pope Benedict XVI's open-air Mass at Cofton Park.

They spoke to BBC WM's Joanne Malin about their everyday lives as Catholics and what their faith means to them.

Cardinal Newman beatification

The Pope will conclude his 4-day visit to the UK in Birmingham with the Mass at Cofton Park.

The main feature of the Mass will be the beatification of Cardinal John Henry Newman.

The visit is the first by a pontiff since Pope John Paul II in 1982.
