Reading is in line for one of the biggest rail investments in the UK.
A £400m revamp to the network in Reading is planned for 2016/7, in an effort to improve one of the biggest rail bottlenecks in the south east.
The improvements to the station will allow the rail station to be used by many more passengers.
More platforms should cut delays for trains coming into the station, and freight and passenger trains will be separated.

Phase one of the Reading Station development will involve moving the entrance to the west of the Three Guineas pub and increasing the number of platforms in order to avoid delays on trains coming into the station.
The existing rail depot will also be moved from the Cow Lane area.
Phase two of the project will see the Cow Lane bridges rebuilt, and the north/south and east/west lines separated to improve train performance and capacity at the station.
The station redevelopment will mean that access for buses, taxis, private cars, bikes and pedestrians using the station area will improve. In order to cope with the increase of passengers, the area in front of Reading Station may be pedestrianised.
An existing subway under the tracks at Reading Station will be opened up, creating a new route to Caversham Bridge for people walking to the river from Reading Town Centre, and the bridge over the tracks will also be widened.
If plans to pedestrianise the area in front of the station go ahead, bus routes will have to change, possibly leading to two-way bus traffic in Friar Street.
The council will work with bus and taxi operators to discuss how to provide facilities for passengers travelling to and from the station.
