Britishness photos in Bracknell
Taken by Ruari Cumming
Britishness runs until Sunday 24 January 2010

The Bracknell Camera Club is exploring the topic of Britishness in an exhibition at South Hill Park arts centre's community gallery.

The eight-week exhibition, which starts on Saturday 28 November 2009, covers everything from British politics, food, fashion and sport.

The 136-image exhibition is the work of 15 photographers who have explored these subjects for the last 12 months.

Britishness runs until Sunday 24 January 2010.

Brian Steptoe, one of the event organisers, said: "The project is about Britain today rather than a nostalgic view of how it might have been.

"It includes, for example, our multi-cultural society, tea-drinking, our foods, and even donkeys on the beach."

Bracknell Camera Club was formed in 1954 and is one of the largest clubs in the south east with a total membership of around 100. The club meets weekly on Thursday evenings and welcomes new members.
