Will the earth be inhabited in 100 years time?

German Foreign Minister Klaus Kinkel has warned that the international climate protection summit in Kyoto must not be allowed to fail.

His concerns have been echoed by environmental groups and governments across the world. But as Japan and the US have rejected EU countries' proposal of a 15% reduction in green house gases by the year 2010, politically binding decisions look unlikely.
