The international negotiations taking place this week on the future of the Serbian province of Kosovo have coincided with the return to public view of the Kurdish separatist campaign.

Following Turkey's seizure of the separatist PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan and consequent Kurdish demonstrations across Europe, the contrast between the international community's treatment of the Kurds and that of the Kosovar Albanians is the subject of this week's Europewide debate.

Do the Kurds deserve the same hearing as the Kosovar Albanians? Should global foreign policy players convene again for a Kurdish version of Rambouillet?
