Regional water supplies
The amount of water that water and sewerage companies supply differs greatly depending on the number of people who live in that region. Thames Water has said that the reason why its leakage rates are so high is because it supplies water to a dense population of over 7.5 million people, the greatest number out of all the water companies. By contrast South West Water supplies water to around 1.5 million people.
