"As one would expect in a rural and coastal seat, the local economy of Moray relies heavily upon farming, forestry and fishing. Also, as befitting a Scottish constituency, there is a marked preponderance of whisky distilleries including the notable Speyside malts of Glenlivet, Dufftown, Aberlour, Knockando and Balvenie. The largest town in the seat is Elgin, an appealing medieval market town which attracts its fair share of tourists. A more surprising and decidedly less conventional magnet for visitors, however, is the Findhorn Foundation - an holistic community which has drawn the more monied hippy and spiritualist types from all over the world to Findhorn since it was established in the 1970s. However, it is doubtful that the next election will bring on a New Age in terms of politics.
