Ms Randerson is the Liberal Democrat chief whip and sits on the Business Committee. She sits, as education spokesman, on the Assembly Committee on Pre-16 Education, Schools and Early learning.

She is a Cardiff councillor (Cyncoed Ward) she was leader of the Opposition for four years - and a business studies lecturer at Cardiff Tertiary College (Coleg Glan Hafren). She claims to be a pioneer of recycling in Cardiff. She is concerned about poor rail services in South Wales. She moved a motion to abolish charges for eye tests.

She was the first chair of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, and contested the Westminster seats of Cardiff South & Penarth in 1987, and Cardiff Central in 1992 and 1997.

She is a Justice of the Peace ,and her interests include the economy, environment and education.

Educated in England. Member of Charter 88 and Friends of the Earth. She is a Governor of two schools, and declares various shareholdings.
