The County Ground (Gloucestershire)

City: Bristol
Club: Gloucestershire

The Ashley Road ground is the home of Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and is set high above the city of Bristol.

It is often referred to as the Phoenix ground by cricket fans and now operates as a general sports centre, with squash and tennis courts, and a golf driving range.

The wicket is good, and can favour spinners although when difficult conditions prevail the games can be short and sweet - when Gloucestershire played Middlesex here in 1909 the game was completed in a single day.

The one match to be played in Bristol sees Brian Lara's West Indies face Pakistan in what should prove to be an intriguing encounter.
