A 'non-negotiable' love'

Charles: Prince with passion

A relaxed Charles strolls around the Balmoral estate. Diana’s death forced the monarchy to re-think its image and Prince Charles has adapted to change quickly. Determined not to lose his footing on the path to succession, in recent months he has emerged as a caring and supportive father and as a modern heir. His popularity has been jollied along by photo opportunities with pop stars and playful scenes with his sons. The Prince continues to throw himself into his many causes and has maintained his relationship with the now-divorced Camilla Parker Bowles.

Although they are very involved privately he has kept the relationship out of the public domain. In the absence of a solution which would satisfy the Queen and the Church of England, the pair seem content to lie low. Prince Charles may be forced to change the status of his relationship in the event he becomes King.
