101st Birthday
Celebrating her centenary

100th birthday

The Queen Mother lived her life in the public eye; firstly as the young Duchess of York, then later as Queen and finally as the Queen Mother. Regal and dignified, she personified the decorum associated with an earlier age. The public regarded her with great affection and on her 100th birthday thousands of people gathered to cheer and wish her well.
