1142 BST: Ten minutes after the start of the procession, the Queen left Buckingham Palace by car and was whisked to Westminster Hall by a different route to that being taken by the coffin. Tradition and protocol states that the female members of the Royal Family do not walk behind the coffin cortege. For the first time, an exception was made, possibly at the Queen Mother's own request, to allow the Princess Royal to walk behind her grandmother's coffin.
