From The Mall to Hyde Park Corner
The Mall was a key site for those wishing to line the funeral route. The funeral service at Westminster Abbey was also relayed here by loudspeaker.
As the cortege passed Buckingham Palace, the Queen's Guard saluted. This mark of respect was also performed by the Queen’s Lifeguard at Horse Guards and the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery at Wellington Arch.
From there the Queen Mother’s final journey continued to Hyde Park Corner.
Once the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh arrived at the Palace following the Westminster Abbey funeral service, the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight flew over The Mall.
