St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle
The hearse carrying the Queen Mother's coffin arrives in Windsor via Datchet Road and enters the Castle through the Henry VIII Gate. From there, it is a few yards to the Queen's Free Chapel of St George, one of the Royal Family's most important places of worship. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary, St George and Edward the Confessor, the chapel was begun by Edward IV in 1475 and completed by Henry VIII in 1528. Ten monarchs are buried there, including the 20th century's Edward VII, George V and George VI, the Queen Mother's husband.
