Post Office: 100% Blue (little risk of material disruption)

Independent verification carried out for the Department of Trade and Industry has indicated that the Post Office merits a 100% Blue rating under the Action 2000 standards.

The assessment covered the Royal Mail's sorting operations, Post Office Counters' cash distribution system, and business continuity plans for both these companies plus Parcelforce.

The Post Office handles many benefit payments, which have also been given a 100% Blue rating.

The Action 2000 traffic light codes:

Blue: The assessment has not identified any risks of material disruption to the infrastructure process.

Amber: The assessment indicates that there is some risk of material disruption to infrastructure processes, but that there is an agreed containment plan to rectify shortcomings.

Red: The assessment indicates that there is a severe risk of material disruption to infrastructure processes and that timely rectification might not be possible.
