EGYPT
Despite nearly 20 years of formal peace, relations between Egypt and Israel remain cool. Egypt largely supports its Arab neighbours' demands for Middle East peace. Like Syria, it believes that Israel should pull out of the Golan Heights and the “security zone” in Lebanon. But as a key US ally, it is working to make sure that the process does not break down. |
