Uganda

Uganda says its troops in DR Congo are there to fight Ugandan rebels - the Allied Democratic Forces - who have rear bases on Congolese territory.
But President Museveni has in the past warned they would also intervene in Congo’s conflict to protect Uganda's interests if other countries sided with President Kabila.
Uganda joined Rwanda in helping President Kabila overthrow the former ruler of the then Zaire, President Mobutu. It has a powerful army.
