Turkey ruled much of what used to be Yugoslavia until the beginning of this century, but these days involvement is likely to be strictly limited. Turks are concerned about the repression of fellow muslims and many favour greater autonomy. Others are more cautious, seeing parallels between Albanian aspirations for Kosovo and hopes of the Kurdish minority in Turkey. |
