Rezalla

Reports of a mass grave near the village of Rezalla are unclear.

Nato reconnaissance images identified a suspected mass grave in Izbek and the two reports may actually be linked.

Journalists who reached Rezalla, including a reporter with the London Guardian newspaper, quoted internally displaced Kosovo Albanians as saying that a large mound of earth contained up to 80 bodies of men.

These bodies were removed two weeks before the arrival of K-For.

Witnesses have told western journalists that they saw Serb paramilitaries shoot men by the side of the road while other Albanians were forced to dig graves. This could be linked to the reports of chained prisoners digging pits in Izbek.

According to the villagers, Serb troops returned to the area with a mechanical digger and removed the bodies. Cows were allegedly buried in place of the bodies.
