War crimes investigators are examining what they say are some of the most consistent and credible accounts of rape during the conflict, some of which came from women who escaped from the tiny village of Dragacina.According to the reports, Serb forces rounded up between 200 and 300 women along with a further 50 women from nearby Mujlan and Dujle.
Men of fighting age had already fled into the mountains. Around 10 old men who were separated went missing.
Over a period of three days, Serbian soldiers are said to have separated at least five young women from the group. One of the five women who spoke to the BBC's Jeremy Bowen in Albania said she was forced at gunpoint to undress. The soldiers ordered her to serve drinks before they raped her while other members of the group watched. A local military commander was reportedly present during a rape.
