Kabul pounded by heavy bombing
Reported Strikes
In Kabul, US planes attacked a Taleban compound and an ammunition depot was hit, exploding in a massive blast. Residents described the raids as the heaviest night of bombing so far.

US planes also reportedly struck Taleban forces at Tagab about 50km north of Kabul. Jan Qadam near Bagram airbase north of Kabul was also hit.

There were also reports of strikes on Herat, Kandahar and Jalalabad.

Taleban front lines at Darra-e-Souf were bombed - but the Taleban say they have repelled the latest Northern Alliance push to capture the strategic city of Mazar-e-Sharif.
