![]() US B-52s intensified their carpet bombing of Taleban frontlines in northern Afghanistan, striking at positions in the north-east of the country, close to Tajikistan. One of Afghanistan’s biggest power stations has been hit according to the Taleban, cutting power supplies to their southern stronghold of Kandahar and the city of Lashkargah. The Taleban say they have repulsed an opposition attack in northern Afghanistan, but the Northern Alliance denies any assault took place. |
