Hazara:
Mostly Shia Muslims, unlike the majority of Afghans who are mainly Sunni, the Hazaras settled in Afghanistan as far back as the 13th century. Hazaras have been seen victimised by Pashtun expansion across Afghanistan and many have taken refuge in central Afghanistan in and around Bamiyan. Hazaras have suffered heavy persecution under the Taleban.
