Expulsion of Ugandan Asians
In 1972 Uganda's President Idi Amin ordered the expulsion of the country's entire South Asian population. More than 50,000 Asians left Uganda. This family was among an estimated 29,000 Ugandan Asians admitted to the UK, most of whom held British passports.
