INTRODUCTION
8 - Passengers

Perhaps surprisingly the SRA is sticking to the ambitious target of increasing passenger numbers by 50% over the next 10 years. This commitment runs alongside plans to reduce passenger overcrowding.

The perennial problem of punctuality is to be addressed with a 400m fund to improve reliability.

Increased access for the disabled is also on the agenda, so hopefully the days of wheelchair bound passengers travelling in the guards van may soon be over.

The issue of high rail prices seems to have been ignored by the 10-year plan.
