The Queen's tour

East Midlands
On 31 July the Queen made her first ever visit to a British mosque, something her hosts in Scunthorpe described as a "great honour". In Nottingham, she saw a special jubilee show at the city's new National Ice Arena. The tour continued with a walkabout in Leicester before another first, a visit to the city's Guru Nanak Gurdhwara, a Sikh temple, where she was greeted by hundreds of well-wishers. The tour finished with the royal entourage being treated to a parade in Derby.
